GriggTech AMS5000M was provided through Boeing (formerly MDHC) to the Mexican Air Force for use aboard their fleet of MD530F helicopters.

The AMS5000M controls various combinations of CFD5000 (XM296-used on the U.S. Army's OH-58 Armed Scout helicopters) gun pods and LAU-131/A 7-tube rocket launchers.

This photo shows the ACU5000M installation in the MD530MG helicopter. The ACU5000M is mounted on the back of the pilot's seat in the cabin.

External electro-mechanical intervalometers were added later to enable the use of M260 7-tube rocket launchers. This system was developed specifically to control the Mexican Air Force LAU-131/A rocket launchers that include internal electro-mechanical intervalometers. Unlike the AMS5000, the ACU5000M does not include internal electronic intervalometers.

There is a considerable weight-savings advantage in using M260 light-weight rocket launchers instead of the LAU-131/A rocket launchers.
